Located in old town Portola is a train caboose that was donated to the city many years ago. To promote the businesses in the area the Rotary Club of Portola will provide benches where tourists can gather and watch the Union Pacific trains pass by. The club will also provide an historic map at the caboose for reference to visitors that are walking on the river walk trail. The club will also be working with the City of Portola on the planned river walk trail.
