Members of the Rotary Club of Canton, GA will be partnering with volunteers from the First Baptist Church of Canton on April 24 for a work day as part of the first-ever Apostles Build in Cherokee County. The Canton club will be assisted by members of the Rotary Group Study Exchange Team from Rotary District 1050 in England, which is visiting Rotary District 6910 (Northeast Georgia) April 14-May 15. (The Canton Rotary club is hosting the visiting GSE team April 23 to April 27; the GSE team's presentation to the Canton club at its April 27 meeting will undoubtedly include a report and photos of the Rotarians at Work Habitat project on April 24.)
The Canton club has donated $2,000 towards construction of a Habitat for Humanity house for a deserving family. The Canton club is joining with a dozen Cherokee County churches which, for the first time, are participating in a single Habitat build by providing funding and volunteers on consecutive Saturdays from mid-February through early June, 2010. The Canton Rotary club regularly takes part in Habitat for Humanity builds, and this will be the second time this Rotary year that the Canton club has participated in a Habitat build.
