Dental Screenings for Children

USA

District: 5320

Rotary Club: Costa Mesa

25-Apr-09

Time: 9am-1pm

Number of Volunteers Expected: 75

Location: Costa Mesa, CA

Area dentists volunteered to do state-mandated dental screenings, free of charge, for low-income families of children entering public school for the first time. School volunteers provided dental education using puppets and a visit by the tooth fairy. Other organizations provided nutritional information and made appointments for follow-up procedures for the families. Rotarians worked with the school district to organize and staff the event.

The Rotary Club of Costa Mesa has 11 members and provided screenings for over 130 children from 76 families.
