Rotary Club: Encinitas

25-Apr-09

Time: 8 AM-12 PM

Number of Volunteers Expected: 70

Location: Quail Botanical Gardens

This year, the Encinitas Rotary Club will have its members working at the Quail Botanical Gardens on a variety of beautification and improvement projects for its Rotarians at Work project on April 25, 2009. The Club will take part in extensive gardening and will also be making improvements to the Gardens. In light of the existing water shortage in Southern California, those efforts will include taking measures to assist in water conservation at the Gardens. Club members will work in the sub-tropical fruit garden, emphasizing mulching and soil preparation. They will also work in the brand new expansion area of the Hamilton Children’s Garden. The Children’s Garden has been designed for the purpose of giving children an opportunity to experience an outdoors activity which is healthy and productive. Quail Botanical Gardens is one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Southern California, drawing thousands of visitors each year to Its award winning, unique grounds in Encinitas.
