This is a continuing project for the Port Orchard Rotary Club. Last spring we started a complete renovation of the round-a-bout located at the intersection of Bethel Road and Mile Hill Road. We are beginning the second of three phases. In this phase we will be installing 9 36" concrete planters, we will be placing the electrical in underground vaults to prevent vandalism and protect the equipment from the weather and we will be installing flowers in the new planters as well as sprucing up the entire area. This round-a-bout is at the second busiest intersection in the entire town. The project has been well received by the entire community. The mayors office and the city council has endorsed the project as well as the State of Washington Department of Transportation. The Washington Department of Transportation is using our project as an example of how the partnership between government and a local service club can acheive great results while improving saftey and beautifying the area.
