District Simplified Grant approved children's playground renovation at a neighborhood center that provides programs for youth to keep kids off the street, and provides structured programs that help high-risk children from multi-problem families in one of Sacramento's most troubled neighborhoods to acquire the skills to become responsible individuals and productive members of the community. The playground renovation will be a 24-hour service marathon, and will include the tear down and rebuilding & painting of a storage shed, replacement of old wood chips with rubber mulch, repainting of a basketball court, finishing a children's sandbox, and supplying the playground with balls, jumpropes, tricycles, and other play equipment. It will involved other community groups and volunteers, with at least a 90% involvement from club members.
